into the blue

Top: Bugis Street
Skirt: MDS Collections
Shoes: Sunday Hues
Bag: Lyra Minn

This is a long overdue post but here's what I wore for the third day of the Chinese New Year! I won the skirt from MDS Collection's Facebook Like & Share Giveaway. I decided to pair it with a layered top for a casual yet elegant look. Moreover, a baggier top would help me to hide that "food baby" from the steamboat I was going to have! Together with the chunky triangle necklace, much attention was taken away from the plain top in order to achieve a more even feel. Slipped my feet into a pair of sky blue heels and I was good to go - what do you think of this look?

Share with me your thoughts below!

oriental flowers

Bottom: Bugis Street
Earrings: Blaack Fox
Phone Cover: Sunday Hues

Spot that Koi next to me - I was the Koi delivery girl that day!

That Wednesday, I decided to match an oriental peplum top together with a pair of denim curved shorts. I love how halter tops accentuate your collar bones - even if you have narrow shoulder or flabby arms, a halter top can actually hide these flaws to make them flawsome (see what I did there?)!

I'm also in love with my new phone cover from Sunday Hues - joining the Tsum Tsum craze with my phone just makes huge sense!

blue mermaid

Top from Bugis Street \ Skirt from Bugis Street \ Shoes from Sunday Hues

Have I ever revealed that I wanted to be a mermaid when I grow up? I think it all stemmed from watching Disney's Little Mermaid when I was younger. However, my parents have always told me that I loved Lion King instead. In fact, I re-watched the DVD so many times that it melted in the player! Oops!

Right now, I'm in the midst of my exams. Every small little thing becomes interesting. Even sweeping the floor becomes a delight! Revision is a bore with the same words swirling all over the page - who likes studying am I right?

My top tips for exams are to find out the most effective study methods and to eat less risky or spicy food the night before!

What's yours? Share them with me below!

prioritising commitments

Top & Skorts from Bugis \\ Loafers from Sunday Hues \\ Bag from Korea

The fifteen days of the Chinese New Year is over and I'm missing it already. The lou heis (prosperity toss), the ang baos (red envelopes filled with money) and majorly, the carefree moments.

First assignments and mid-semester tests have finally concluded this week, but there is no room to take a break. It is time to start on the final assignments!

One thing I've learnt from being busy, is to always prioritise your commitments properly. Always, always, leave room for some relaxation and alone time because trust me, you'll need it. I would highly recommend an organizer to keep track of upcoming events and deadlines! If you prefer an online organizer, the calendar application on a MacBook works just fine - you can even label different categories (e.g. personal, school, work, etc.) with different colors.

The second tip is to figure out how much time each activity requires and to compare it with the number of days left to the deadline. For me, I would start on the most tedious assignment first. However, do keep in mind that this works for differently for each person!

Lastly, keep a to do list and strike the task off once you have completed it! Reward yourself with your favourite snack or drink before you head on to the next. As the strikes accumulates, you'll start to feel a sense of achievement, motivating you further.

Never ever blame yourself for falling short - a busy schedule requires self-motivation and optimism!

So there it is, three tips on prioritising your commitments! You can do it, believe in yourself!

lyla

Thank you Lyla for sending me this ASOS Inspired Triangular Hand Chain Bracelet!

I picked this particular accessory as it easily adds class to your outfit. It also gives off a "princess" feeling, doesn't it?

On a side note, I've been spending much time planning the Orientation Camp for the freshies who will be joining SIM-RMIT in January! Can't wait to share the results of the camp with everyone!
